Well. The 2025 Trade Deadline is officially upon us. There will be plenty of moves made today, but at the time of writing the only moves the Cleveland Guardians have made were involuntary. We will all be waiting with baited breath and refreshing every page for news on the fate of beloved Cy Young pitchers and fan favorite Gold Glove out fielders. The Phillies picked up Jhoan Duran from the Twins for a couple of prospects.
The Mariners landed Eugenio Suarez from the Diamondbacks for for 1B Tyler Locklear, RHP Hunter Cranton and RHP Juan Burgos.
The Cubs acquired RHrP Andrew Kitteridge from the Orioles and RHP Michael Soroka from the Nationals.
The Mets got RH closer Ryan Helsley from the Cardinals and RHrP Tyler Rogers from the Giants.
A three-team trade involving the Rays, Reds and Dodgers puts RHP Zack Littell in Cincinnati.
The Astros got 3B Ramon Urias from the Orioles.
The Red Sox made a trade for LHP Steven Matz from the Cardinals.
Closer Mason Miller of the Athletics didn’t pitch in a save situation because he was “unavailable.”
The Red Sox trounced the Twins 13-1.
The White Sox beat the Phillies 9-3.
Tigers and Royals both won their games.
