I know it’s not this easy
I know I am not smarter than Guardians PoBO Chris Antonetti, but let’s pretend we body swap for the next hour.
I can’t change that we just saw one of those games where frequent tight-rope-walkers Logan Allen and Hunter Gaddis fell off the rope, Jose had a bad day at the plate, and Angel Martinez and Johnathan Rodriguez both looked very, very green. But, I can use my imagination to put myself into a Freaky Friday that will let me vent a bit about my favorite baseball team.
So, we have body-swapped. Here’s what I do:
1. Promote Chase DeLauter. Put Will Brennan on the 60-Day IL and demote Johnathan Rodriguez to Columbus.
2. Demote David Fry to Columbus. Inform him it is just to help him find his timing. It is that but it’s also to allow me some time to shop Carlos Santana.
3. Promote CJ Kayfus while cutting Dom Nunez. Carlos Santana will now start at 1B vs LHP only and take pinch-hit/defensive replacement reps. Manzardo every day at 1B or DH. Kayfus 1B or DH against RH starters.
4. Play DeLauter everyday except for needed rest days, in which cases you can have either Jones or Thomas play in RF with the other in CF. Get Jones 1-2 starts a week vs RHP in center.
5. Cut Kolby Allard and promote Erik Sabrowski. It was cute while it lasted.
I think that’s about it. Ok, swap me back because I need to go make sure Antonetti-me isn’t teaching my oldest two kids to pull and lift everything in coach pitch, while telling my younger two they’ll have to work on their defense more before they get the call for t-ball.
