The Cleveland Guardians took game three last night against the Minnesota Twins off a towering swing from Bo Naylor and fantastic pitching from Luis Ortiz and Cade Smith.
The full recap can be read here. The Guardians look to win the series today. Ben Lively will take the mound with a first pitch scheduled for 1:10 PM EDT.
The Guardians sent out a press release on medical updates for several players. Notably:
- Shane Bieber will begin pitching in live batting practice early this month.
- Chase DeLauter will begin game activity in the next several weeks. He posted on his personal Instagram showing him take live batting practice yesterday.
- David Fry will begin game progression early this month.
- John Means will begin throwing bullpens mid month based on current projections.
Slade Cecconi made his first rehab appearance with the Columbus Clippers last night. He went 3.1IP. He allowed one hit and one walk which resulted in two earned runs. He struck out five batters on fifty pitches. His fast ball touched 97mph.
The Player Development System announced some additional moves yesterday:
- C Jake Anchia was activated from the 7-Day IL in Columbus.
- C David Leon was transferred from Columbus to the ACL.
- RHP Carter Spivey was promoted from Akron to Columbus.
- RHP Triston McKenzie, who cleared waivers and was outrighted to Columbus, was placed on the Development List.
The Guardians made a trade with the Texas Rangers, sending beloved fan favorite Cash Considerations for RHP Matt Festa. Festa will be assigned to the Clippers.
Speaking of new Clippers, C.J. Kayfus continues to make waves as he ventures up the system. In his AAA debut Kayfus hit his first home run, a 378ft lead off go-ahead moonshot.

Around the League:
The Tigers beat the Astros 7-4 and the Royals beat the Rays 3-0.
The Rockies won a game! They beat the Braves 2-1.
The Yankees/Orioles rivalry is very much alive and well this season. The benches cleared last night after a successful stolen base.
Mike Trout left last night’s game with knee soreness.
