The Guardians managed to mostly salvage a road trip that began with a terrible sweep at the hands of the Mariners by winning series against the Giants and then, yesterday, the A’s.
Nicole has your recap and highlights from the 3-0 shutout win yesterday here. Slade Cecconi is pretty exciting, that’s a hugely positive thing. David Fry finally got a big hit off a lefty.
The Guardians have the 29th ranked wRC+ from outfielders as of today at 72 wRC+. It’s time for them to call Chase DeLauter up tomorrow. No excuses. Even Cleveland.com’s Paul Hoynes wrote a pretty scathing review of their hitters, so frustrating is high.
The Guardians made a couple of cuts from their Triple-A roster in letting Micah Pries (there goes that Spring Training run) and Kyle Datres go, allowing them to add Christian Cairo back to the roster. Maybe Juan Brito next?
We are getting close to me tracking where the Guardians are in the wildcard race here. But, let’s see that offense start to sustain something… by calling up Chase DeLauter, as a first move.
