Cleveland Guardians minor league recap for Friday, May 30, 2025
Columbus Clippers 7, Rochester Red Wings 8 (F/10)
Box Score · Clippers fall to 22-29
The top of the Clippers batting order was terrific, but the Columbus bullpen blew a late lead, then blew the game in extra innings.
Petey Halpin had a great game, going 2-for-4 with his fifth home run of the season. He’s batting .288 with a .839 OPS. Already on the 40-man, could he be the answer if Lane Thomas and/or Steven Kwan have to spend time on the injured list?

Brayan Rocchio also homered, his third since being demoted to Triple-A.
Other offensive standouts included C.J. Kayfus, who went 2-for-4 with a walk and Christian Cairo, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs scored.
In his Triple-A debut, starting pitcher Aaron Davenport was knocked around for five runs on eight hits with five strikeouts and three walks in 4.1 innings.
Andrew Misiaszek, Zak Kent and Nick Mikolajchak combined for 3.2 scoreless frames out of the bullpen, but Bradley Hanner allowed a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to tie the game. Mason Hickman then walked the bases loaded before taking the loss in the 10th.
Akron RubberDucks 0, Somerset Patriots 12
Box Score · RubberDucks fall to 32-16
Let’s pretend this one didn’t happen.
Akron was shut out on just two hits and one walk Thursday. Joe Lampe doubled and Cooper Ingle had the other hit.
The pitching side of the equation was just as bad as Carter Spivey was annihilated for seven runs on seven hits with three walks and three strikeouts in 3.2 innings. Shawn Rapp and Steven Perez also both were hammered in relief.
Lake County Captains 2, Cedar Rapids Kernels 6
Box Score · Captains fall to 25-23
Lake County struggled on Thursday, managing two runs on four hits. Wuilfredo Antunez was the lone bright spot on offense, going 2-for-3 with a home run.
Starting pitcher Dylan DeLucia impressed, allowing two runs on four hits with four strikeouts and no walks in 5.0 innings pitched.
The bullpen couldn’t keep the team in the game, however as Josh Harlow allowed three runs in his lone inning of work.
