Recapping Wednesday and heading into Thursday
The Guardians have not done anything in the trade market… yet. But, rumors are swirling about Cleveland this deadline.
Here is a brief summary of some rumors:
The Guardians are “trying to move” both Steven Kwan and Shane Bieber, per source. Bieber made his fourth rehab start on Tuesday, striking out seven with no walks in four innings. He’s returning from April 2024 Tommy John surgery and has a $16M player option ($4M buyout) for 2026.

Padres and Reds in addition to Dodgers (and others) are in on the Steven Kwan derby. Kwan with Luis Arraez would be quite the interesting combo.

Passan has Bieber as likely to move and Kwan as possible to move.
Kwan also waved goodbye to the crowd after the last out tonight:

So, two high-volume shooters in Feinsand and Heyman have the Padres, Dodgers and Reds in on Kwan. Cubs and Red Sox seem to be the primary suitors for Bieber.
I am about to pass out but will post more tomorrow. If you want to discuss potential trade return targets, do so in the comments below!
