Let’s please find a way to win a series

The 37-36 Guardians meet the 31-46 Athletics for a three-game series in Sacramento beginning tonight.

The Guardians have a -24 run differential, 24th in team wRC+ at 91, 15th in Baserunning Runs Above Average at 0.1, fifth in Defense at 3.8, 26th in starting pitcher SIERA at 4.44, and eighth in bullpen SIERA at 3.57.

The Athletics have a -126 run differential, 8th in team wRC+ at 108, 11th in Baserunning Runs Above Average at 1.1, 28th in Defense at -28.5, 28th in starting pitcher SIERA at 4.60, and 27th in bullpen SIERA at 4.08.

Matchups:

Game One, Friday 10:05PM EDT: Tanner Bibee, RHP 4.29 SIERA vs. Jeffrey Springs, LHP 4.95 SIERA

Game Two, Saturday, 10:05PM EDT: Luis Ortiz, RHP 4.12 SIERA vs. Mitch Spence, RHP 3.89 SIERA

Game Three, Sunday, 4:05PM EDT: Slade Cecconi, RHP 3.68 SIERA vs. JP Sears, LHP, 4.52 SIERA

The Guardians are led by Jose Ramirez 152 wRC+, Steven Kwan 125 wRC+, Daniel Schneemann 114 wRC+, Carlos Santana 105 wRC+ and Kyle Manzardo 102 wRC+.

The Athletics feature Jacob Wilson 158 wRC+, Brent Rooker 132 wRC+, Nick Kurtz 124 wRC+, Tyler Soderstrom 119 wRC+, Lawrence Butler 118 wRC+, and Luis Urias, 111 wRC+.

The Guardians just need to show they are not a bad team by beating this ball club. Their defense will be better than the stats show because they have promoted Denzel Clarke who cannot hit but has put up 10 outs above average in 24 games. If it gets hit to center, Clarke will catch it. So, let’s see good pitching, good hitting approaches, good defense, smart baserunning and we should see a series win. Also, we need Ortiz to bounceback from two bad starts.
