Austin Peterson had a tremendous start but took the tough luck loss, allowing one run on six hits with six strikeouts and one walk in 5.0 solid innings. Parker Mushinski and Bradley Hanner combined for 3.0 scoreless innings.
It was a tough day offensively, but Gabriel Arias went 2-for-4 with a walk in a rehab assignment. Kahlil Watson also impressed in his Triple-A debut, going 1-for-2 withtwo walks. Petey Halpin doubled.

Travis Bazzana had a monster game, but he couldn’t do it himself. The 2024 No. 1 overall pick went 3-for-3 with three doubles and a walk on Tuesday to help Akron build a 3-2 lead.

Unfortunately, the bullpen allowed three runs in the bottom of the ninth to lose the game as Zane Morehouse gave up a two-out, three-run home run.
Angel Genao also had an excellent game, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and Guy Lipscomb reached base safely three times, going 2-for-3 with a walk and two stolen bases.
Starting pitcher Tommy Mace was decent, allowing a pair of runs on three hits with two strikeouts and a walk. Jake Miller and Steven Perez were spectacular out of the bullpen, both pitching 2.0 scoreless innings with just one total hit allowed between them.
Lake County Captains 7, Lansing Lugnuts 2

The story of this game was the return to the mound of Shane Bieber. The former Cy Young winner was terrific, allowing one run on two hits in 3.0 innings. He struck out four and did not walk a batter.

Michael Kennedy followed in a piggy-back role with one of his better outings of the season. He also allowed one run on two hits, but pitched 4.0 innings while striking out two and walking none. Scott Harlow finished off the game with 2.0 scoreless innings and three strikeouts.
Offensively, Alfonsin Rosario went 2-for-4 with a double while Jose Devers went 2-for-3 with a double and a hit by pitch. Jacob Cozart also went 2-for-4 with a home run and a double and Ralphy Velazquez went 2-for-4.
Christian Knapczyk and Ryan Mitchell both reached base safely twice with a single and walk apiece.
Lynchburg Hillcats 8, Delmarva Shorebirds 5

Everyone contributed in Lynchburg’s win Tuesday. Ryan Cesarini and Welbyn Francisca both had multi-hit games, going 2-for-4 with a walk to both reach base safely twice. Cesarini also stole a base.
Luis Merejo went 1-for-3 with two walks and Garrett Howe doubled and stole a base. Yerlin Luis walked and stole two bases.
Starting pitcher Melkin Hernandez had a rough day, walking six and allowing two runs on three hits in 2.0 innings with four strikeouts. Conner Zsak was worse, giving up three runs in his lone inning of work.
The bullpen was sensational the rest of the way, however. Xavier Martinez pitched two scoreless innings, Sean Heppner pitched a scoreless 1.2 innings and Logan McGuire struck out three in 2.1 scoreless frames to earn the save.
