The Orlando Magic do have magic in the postseason. The young and inexperienced Orlando Magic team gave the Cleveland Cavs a taste of their own medicine. You can’t take your foot off the gas or take anyone too lightly. When this happens, you will pay the consequences. Magic dismantled the Cavs, 121-83. It is the worst playoff loss since 2008.
Orlando came out swinging and didn’t miss a beat. The Magic were energized, they outplayed the Cavs and the crowd was into it. The Cavs didn’t come out to play with urgency. Once the Magic had them down, they never led up. It got out of hand pretty quickly. The Magic were in complete control of the entire contest.
Paolo Banchero had 31 points and 14 rebounds and Jalen Suggs added 24 points for the Orlando Magic. The duo couldn’t be stopped in the third quarter. They were responsible for scoring 21 of the team’s 27 points in that quarter.
Donovan Mitchell is giving us a Deja Vu from last year’s series against the Knicks. He didn’t play well. He finished with 13 points on 6-for-16 from the field. We are now focusing on whether his knee is bothering him or starting to take a toll on him. Jarrett Allen, who had a big game in Game 2 with 20 rebounds, played poorly in Game 3 with eight rebounds. That’s a massive downgrade.
Wendell Carter Jr being inserted into the lineup caused some problems for Allen because he kept him off the glass in certain possessions. Therefore, don’t be surprised if the Orlando Magic will decide to put him in the starting lineup for the rest of the series. Darius Garland is having a horrible series. Five points? FIVE POINTS? Unacceptable. He needs to get going. He’s been careless with the basketball and not locked in the game. Is there something wrong going on with him?
Game 4 will be on Saturday at 1 pm. Magic are looking to tie the series. This is a must-win game for the Cavs. Magic are a confident group and they like their chances. The Cavs need to play better offense.
